SiN Reloaded Settings and Graphics
Gold toggle, readability sliders, frame-rate caps, Deck notes, and subtitle languages.
Reloaded’s options screen is doing more work than Ritual’s 1998 menu. KEX exposes a visual identity switch, modern anti-aliasing, frame-rate caps up to the PC 144 FPS target, and readability tools that the original never needed because CRTs hid a lot of sins. Set this page once, then stop fiddling in the bank vault. Binds live on the controls page. Whether your machine should even attempt 4K lives on system requirements.
The Steam demo is the right place to lock these choices. A setting that looks fine in the menu and fails in a dark Chem hall is cheaper to discover before 24 September 2026.
Remaster versus Gold

The headline slider is the Gold visual toggle. Remastered mode is the trailer look: higher-resolution textures, rebuilt 2D screens, character portraits that match the new art pass. Gold mode is Nightdive’s 2020 SiN Gold appearance — the faces and walls veterans remember, not a separate campaign.
Use remastered if you want Reloaded to present as a 2026 product. Use Gold if a rebuilt portrait bothers you, if you are comparing a speedrun memory, or if you simply like the older read. The toggle is the feature; it is not a low-quality mode and it is not a cheat. Some players swap mid-mission to check a secret they remember as a specific texture. That is allowed. Just remember that point-of-interest markers and map-flow tweaks still exist in Gold. The geometry Reloaded touched in Silo and Chem does not roll back with the skins.
Brightness and entity contrast
Freeport is full of brown halls, night streets, and labs that bury a mutant in the same hue as the wall. Brightness raises the floor of the image. Entity contrast is the more useful cousin: it pushes characters and enemies off the scenery so a U4 silhouette does not share a palette with a crate.
Start with brightness until UI and muzzle flash are not clipping, then nudge entity contrast until mercs in a dark atrium read as people. If you max both, you will wash out the mood Nightdive actually painted. Reloaded is still a 1998 lighting plan with better textures; it will not become a horror game because you crushed the gamma, and it will not become a competitive arena because you crushed it the other way.
On a television, run this test in a dim room. On a Steam Deck, run it in the space you actually play — handheld glare lies. If a setting only helps in the pause menu, it is wrong.
Anti-aliasing and frame-rate cap
PC Reloaded advertises up to 4K at 144 FPS with anti-aliasing. That is a ceiling. Cap to your display. A 60 Hz panel with an unlocked 144 FPS budget adds heat for no extra frames you can see. VSync is the usual tear fix; if you prefer a cap two frames under the refresh rate, that habit works here the way it works in other KEX titles.
Anti-aliasing cleans the jaggies on steel beams and Magnum sights. Higher AA costs GPU time. If you are on the Steam minimum (a dual-core 2.0 GHz class machine with a DX11 or Vulkan 1.1 GPU), turn AA down before you touch resolution. Resolution is the expensive lever; AA is the cheap one until it is not.
Switch 2 has its own targets — 4K / 120 docked, 1080p handheld — and does not owe you a PC-style AA tree. See platforms for the console picture and system requirements for the PC table.
Steam Deck and handhelds
The Deck is a Linux handheld running the Windows build through Proton-class translation unless Valve lists a native path later. Check Steam’s own Deck rating on app 632950 rather than a screenshot on this wiki. In practice: lock 40 or 60 FPS, drop AA, keep entity contrast readable in a bright room, and test the demo before you assume the full campaign is comfortable.
Gyro and Steam Input got demo hotfixes after the June trial shipped. If look-feel is wrong, fix it on controls before you blame the GPU. Reloaded also supports mouse on Switch 2, which is a different handheld conversation: dock or table, not a Deck clone.
Subtitles and accessibility
English has full audio, interface, and subtitles. French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese ship interface and subtitles. If you play those languages, turn subtitles on. Reloaded restored unused VO; missing a restored line because the mix is busy is a waste of the patch.
Subtitles also cover the case where Blade and JC overlap a firefight. They are not a spoiler setting. Color-blind options, if present in your build, belong next to entity contrast: the goal is to see the merc, not to recolor Freeport into a new art pass.
Once graphics are stable, stop. The rest of your time belongs to loadouts and the getting started checklist, not to a 2% AA debate in the pause menu.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What is the Gold visual toggle?
A KEX switch between remastered textures and the SiN Gold look. It does not revert Silo/Chem gameplay overhauls or remove point-of-interest markers. Swap whenever you want; it is not a difficulty mode.
Should I cap FPS at 144?
Only if your display can show it. Cap to refresh. 144 FPS is the PC target, not a requirement. Minimum specs are on system requirements.
Why is entity contrast separate from brightness?
Brightness lifts the whole image. Entity contrast pushes characters and enemies off walls so mutants do not camouflage in Chem. Raise contrast before you nuke gamma.
Does SiN Reloaded run on Steam Deck?
The Windows build is what Steam will offer. Test the demo, cap FPS, and lower AA. Trust Steam's Deck rating on app 632950 over a wiki guess.
Which languages have spoken audio?
English. Other Steam languages listed for Reloaded are interface and subtitles: French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese.
Where do I change mouse or gamepad binds?
On the controls page, not here. This page is visuals, caps, Deck notes, and subtitles.
