SiN Reloaded Vehicles
Forklift, boat, helicopter, ATV — the rides Ritual hid in Freeport and Reloaded still expects you to use.
SiN Reloaded is a first-person shooter that occasionally hands you a steering wheel. That is not a side mode. Some maps will not finish until you move a crate, cross a stretch of water, or man a turret on a HardCorps helicopter. The original 1998 game pioneered this kind of set-piece driving on the Quake II engine. KEX keeps the vehicles and modernizes the sticks so a gamepad is not a punishment. This page is when to board, how Use works, and what not to ram. Gun ranks stay on the weapons guide. Map order stays on the walkthrough.
The campaign is single-player. You will not share a patrol boat. Online PvP is a different conversation on multiplayer. Until 24 September 2026 the Steam demo may show launch hardware and a turret, not a leisurely harbor cruise.
How boarding works
Walk to the seat, turret, or cabin and press Use — the same key that loots corpses and jacks terminals. Reloaded’s overhauled control scheme maps this to a face button on pads. If nothing happens, you are on the wrong side of the mesh or a terminal still owns the garage door.
Exit with Use again. Do not jump out over water unless the map told you to swim. The speargun is better underwater after Reloaded’s buff; it is still a bad substitute for a boat you abandoned mid-channel. See combat if you insist on swimming with a Magnum.
Helicopter and the opening turret
The campaign opens over Freeport City Bank in a HardCorps helicopter. You man a turret before you ever set foot on marble. The Gamescom preview confirmed two Reloaded helps: a peace sign on people you should not slaughter, and a cinematic Nightdive said is being remade. Do not empty the turret into friendlies. The map can fail you out of the rooftop start and dump you on the street — a branch, not a soft game over. Details on that fork live in the walkthrough and secrets.
Later helicopters are rides, not always turrets. If JC is screaming about a landing pad, look for the Use prompt on the skid, not a new gun.
Forklift
The forklift is a crate tool that happens to run people over. Warehouse and construction maps hide objectives behind palettes. Lift, place, Use the terminal that just unlocked. Reloaded’s POI markers make the crate you actually need ping instead of blending into cardboard. Ram a merc if they stand in the tines. Do not treat it as a tank. Locational armor still applies when you climb out.
Patrol boat and water
Harbor, dam, and oil-rig approaches put you in a patrol boat. Throttle, steer, do not beach it on geometry the 1998 clipper loved. Reloaded raised the tick rate, so the hull tracks more honestly than Gold. If the map then forces a swim, holster the Magnum and pull the speargun — Reloaded made it worth using underwater. Flamethrower is a joke in a canal.
ATV and other short hops
The all-terrain stretch is a jungle / gorge connector, not a racing mode. Stay on the dirt. If you yeet off a cliff, reload the named save you should already be making per getting started. Reloaded did not add a rewind.
Combat from a seat
Vehicle guns share the same knock-away fantasy as infantry: you can still be shot in the head. Exit if the seat has no canopy and a sniper has angle. Chaingun from a boat looks cool and wastes the ammo you wanted for loadouts on land.

Reloaded-specific notes
Nightdive touched every level and overhauled Silo and Chem. Vehicle paths that used to clip into 90s jank are the kind of thing a higher tick rate and map pass quietly fix. They did not add a new vehicle class. They made the old ones less of a wrestling match with the engine. Gold visual toggle does not change handling. Settings for look sensitivity while driving live next to infantry binds on controls and settings.
Linux and Deck: Proton can drive these set pieces. If the boat input feels inverted, check gyro notes on the demo notes page — Update #1 fixed yaw/roll on non-Steam Input gyro. Broader Proton advice: Linux and Deck.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Which vehicles are in SiN Reloaded?
Forklift, patrol boat, helicopter (including the opening turret), and an ATV stretch. You board with Use.
Can I skip the helicopter turret?
You can fail it and land on the street instead of the roof. That is a branch. The walkthrough covers both starts.
Do vehicles have their own health bar?
Treat them as set pieces. You can still die from locational hits. Exit if you are a sitting Magnum magnet.
Is there vehicle combat in PvP?
The story vehicles are campaign toys. See multiplayer for deathmatch and CTF.
Does the demo include driving?
The trial is silo / Paradox gunfeel, not a harbor tour. Confirm on the demo guide.
