SiN Reloaded Weapons Guide

What each gun is for, what it eats, and what Nightdive changed for Reloaded.

Weapons Guide

Ritual designed SiN so the guns felt like characters: loud Magnums, a greedy chaingun, a pulse rifle you assemble like a scavenger hunt, a Quantum Destabilizer that will kill the person holding it. Reloaded keeps that roster and rewrites the ones that felt unfinished. Nightdive developer Xaser’s Deep Dive (embedded mid-page) is the studio saying the same thing — unique gunfeel, the crossbow detonator, and why weapon tuning was the focus. Use this page as the manual. Use the weapon tiers hub when you need a default rank, loadouts when a map asks for a kit, and the combat guide when the problem is movement rather than caliber.

Ammo is not a shared pool. Magnum rounds, shells, rifle bullets, rockets, cells, fuel, spears, bolts, and mines all compete for the space in Blade’s pockets. Reloaded’s point-of-interest markers make caches easier to see, but they do not print extra crates. If a gun is hungry, holster it between set pieces.

Magnum

Blade’s signature .45s are still the first answer in Freeport. Reloaded’s headline change: dual Magnums fire and reload independently. Emptying the left gun no longer freezes the right. In the bank, that means you can keep a loaded pistol on the teller line while the other cycles. Head and chest shots drop mercs; limbs waste cylinders. Magnum ammo is the most replaceable round in the campaign, which is why the tier list parks this pair in S.

Shotgun

Pellets own marble atriums, security offices, and any door you kick. Wait until the target fills the reticle. Reloaded does not reinvent the shotgun so much as respect the maps: Silo and Chem still have tight corners, and Mancini’s crew still stands in them. Shells disappear faster than magnum rounds, so do not mag-dump into a hallway you could have Magnum’d.

Assault rifle

The rifle is the mid-range adult. Use it on decks, construction steel, and SinTEK halls where the shotgun’s spread becomes a rumor. Burst if you can; full auto eats the shared bullet pool that the chaingun also wants. Secondary grenades, when you have them, are for clumps, not for showing off next to a barrel.

Chaingun

Hold the trigger and the room becomes a line. Spin-up and bullet cost are the tax. Chaingun is the gun you pull for chopper runs, long courtyards, and any enemy pack that has already seen you. Do not open every door with it. Reloaded’s miscellaneous weapon polish makes it track more honestly; it still will not invent ammo.

Rockets

Direct hits delete vehicles, turrets, and clustered heavies. Splash deletes Blade if the wall is closer than the target. The overhauled silo is the rocket’s best argument; Chem’s tighter rework is its worst. Carry a handful, spend them on set pieces, and stop treating the launcher like a rifle.

Pulse rifle

You do not start with this gun. You assemble it from parts scattered through the campaign, which is still one of SiN’s better scavenger toys. Reloaded’s change is the one that matters: pulse lightning now chains between enemies. Lead the first bolt into the densest body and the squad shares the shock. Cells are rarer than bullets. Save the pulse for packed mercs and later mutants, not for lone shotgunners you could have Magnum’d.

Quantum Destabilizer

The superweapon. The beam looks like an answer to bosses and Area 57 experiments. Overcharge kills you. That is not flavor text. Hold the charge until the shot is clean, fire, and let go. If you panic-hold while Thrall closes, Blade dies to his own toy. Rank C for general play, mandatory for the last argument. See enemies before you spend the last cells on trash.

Sniper rifle

Gorges, rooftops, and any map that lets you see a rocket trooper before he sees you. Hip-fire is a last resort. Reloaded’s point-of-interest markers help you spot the perch; they do not make the gun good in a bank vault.

Spider mines

Throw, then steer. Reloaded adds remote control, which turns a prank item into a room-clearer. Send a mine around a corner, into a cluster, under a turret. Do not steer it into your own shins. Mine count is low; one well-driven bug beats three panic throws.

Crossbow

Explosive bolts were always a gadget. Reloaded adds a detonator switch, so you plant, wait, and pop when the patrol stacks. That is the Chem and silo version of patience. Bolts are not shotgun shells. If you cannot wait for the stack, use a gun that does not ask you to.

Flamethrower

Nightdive made it hit much harder. Mutants that used to treat fire as weather now retreat or drop. Fuel runs out in a hurry, so you paint a lane, not a building. Area 57 and any U4 hallway is flame country. Humans with guns still die faster to Magnums if they are not already in your face.

Speargun

Reloaded finally makes the speargun a reason to stay in the water instead of a reason to panic-surface. Lead swimming targets, keep moving, and holster it when you climb out. On land it is a harpoon with poor manners.

How the roster talks to the rest of the wiki

Characters explains why Blade carries a Magnum and why Elexis’s labs keep inventing worse flesh. Loadouts turns this list into four kits: bank close-range, silo explosives, mutant energy, and conservation. If a gun still feels wrong after a tweak, it is probably the room, not the rank — check combat and stop standing in the splash.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Do dual Magnums share one reload in Reloaded?

No. Each pistol fires and reloads independently. You can empty one cylinder and keep the other in the fight, which is the main reason they sit in S on the tier list.

Where do I get the pulse rifle?

You assemble it from parts found during the campaign. Until then, rifle and Magnum cover mid-range. Once built, Reloaded's chaining lightning is the reason to spend cells on packed squads.

Will the Quantum Destabilizer kill me?

Overcharge will. Fire clean shots and release the charge. It is a boss tool, not a hallway spray. Match it to Thrall and experiments, not to bank robbers.

Which Reloaded tweaks actually change how I play?

Independent Magnums, remote spider mines, crossbow detonator, chaining pulse, stronger flamethrower, and a speargun that is worth using underwater. The rest is polish on the 1998 roster.

What should I carry in the Steam demo?

Magnum and shotgun, with the rifle if the demo map gives you range. Full kits wait for launch; see loadouts and the demo guide.

Is ammo shared across guns?

No. Magnum, shells, bullets, rockets, cells, fuel, spears, bolts, and mines are separate. The chaingun and assault rifle both drink bullets, so spraying one starves the other.
