Getting Started

SiN Reloaded is the game you buy if you want Ritual Entertainment’s 1998 shooter SiN plus Wages of SiN, rebuilt on Nightdive’s KEX engine. The full campaign launches 24 September 2026 on Steam, GOG, Epic, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2. Until that date, the only way to play is the Steam demo. Producer Grover Wimberly IV told the Atari podcast the main campaign is about 6–7 hours, closer to 12 if you hunt every secret, with Wages of SiN adding about 4 hours. Treat those as studio estimates, not a speedrun clock. This page is the onboarding checklist: how to wishlist or buy, what the demo is not, how the first hour is supposed to feel, and which wiki pages to keep open after you leave the bank.

You are Colonel John R. Blade, HardCorps’ lead security consultant in Freeport, 2037. Doctor Elexis Sinclaire runs SinTEK and is pushing the DNA-altering street drug U4. Your operator JC lives in your ear and on every DOS terminal you jack. The opening crime is a bank heist by Antonio Mancini that Elexis funded. The fantasy is not a silent special-ops sim. It is a loud, locational-damage FPS with vehicles, hacking, and maps that rewrite themselves if you miss a timer. Treat it that way from minute one.

Wishlist, buy, and which store to use

Wishlist Steam app 632950 even if you only play the demo — that listing becomes the full campaign on 24 September. GOG and Epic sell the same PC build. Consoles use first-party stores for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch, and Switch 2. Nightdive says Switch can digitally upgrade to Switch 2 at no extra cost; confirm on the eShop. Check platforms and system requirements before you chase 4K/144 on a laptop that cannot hold 60.

Do not confuse SiN Gold (the 2020 PC port) with Reloaded. Gold is the look you can toggle inside Reloaded. Reloaded is the KEX remaster: new tick rate, POI markers, weapon tweaks, console builds. Own Gold? Still wishlist Reloaded.

Demo versus the full game

The Steam demo is app 4679680. It is a two-mission slice with silo-style content, not Freeport City Bank and not the complete campaign. Dual Magnums, sniper, rockets, HV chaingun, and assault rifle are in the trial so you can feel Reloaded’s gunplay. Read the Demo Guide before you judge the whole game from two maps.

Treat demo saves as a separate build. Do not assume progress carries into the 24 September campaign unless Nightdive documents a transfer. Bind keys anyway. Linux and Deck players should try Proton here first.

First hour in Freeport

The campaign proper opens over Freeport City Bank in a HardCorps helicopter. You man a turret, then either land on the roof or get forced to the street if the chopper takes too much fire. Reloaded paints a peace-sign marker on friendlies so the turret intro is less of a guessing game; Nightdive also said the opening cinematic is being remade. More on the gunship: vehicles. Terminals after you land: hacking. That is the first branch, and it already changes where you start inside the bank. Inside, Mancini’s crew is hitting the vault. Civilians, HardCorps friendlies, and gunmen share the atrium; Reloaded marks some non-targets more clearly than Gold did. Clear rooms, Use every corpse for ammo, and hit DOS terminals when JC tells you the security net is live.

After the bank you push abandoned buildings, a construction zone, and the subway. Expect a forklift, more Mancini, and an ammo crunch if you sprayed the chaingun on the roof. Magnum or shotgun for rooms, rifle for halls. If a gun flies out of a merc’s hands, pick it up. A helmet does not save your chest. The Combat Guide covers that economy. The Walkthrough takes over once the subway dumps you toward SinTEK.

Difficulty, saves, and settings before you commit

Reloaded is still a 1990s FPS under the new art. Medium is the honest first run if you have not played SiN. Drop a notch if locational damage and ammo scarcity frustrate you; raise it if you already know Gold. Always Run is a trap in stealthier chem-plant beats — turn it off in settings when you need to walk. Swap remastered textures for SiN Gold if the new lighting hides a key; Reloaded also puts exclamation marks on interactables that used to blend into desks.

Use the pause menu for named saves at every map transition. Quicksave is a bind you should confirm in the remapper, not assume from a 1998 manual. Dying to a Quantum overcharge or a missed missile timer is cheaper when the last good file is two minutes old. Bind Use somewhere you will actually press; that key loots, reloads from bodies, jacks terminals, and enters vehicles. Full bind notes live on Controls.

What to open next

Still on the trial? Stay on the Demo Guide. On 24 September, follow the Walkthrough and skim Secrets and Branching so pulse-rifle parts and the silo timer do not surprise you. Rank guns on the weapon tier list and pick a loadout before you dump cells into the Quantum Destabilizer. After Elexis, play Wages of SiN. Patch notes: what’s new. Storefronts: Links. Index: Guides Hub.

Blade is a one-man raid with a hacker on the radio, not a fireteam. Loot every body, read every terminal, and do not trust a timer JC is shouting about.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Should I play the demo or wait for 24 September 2026?

Play the Steam demo now if you want to test gunfeel, Proton, or Deck. It is a two-mission slice, not the full campaign. Wishlist the parent app so you can buy on launch day.

Which platforms can I buy SiN Reloaded on?

Steam, GOG, and Epic on PC; PlayStation 5 and 4; Xbox Series and Xbox One; Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. See platforms for the store-by-store grid.

What difficulty should I start on?

Medium if you are new to SiN. Locational damage and ammo scarcity are the real difficulty, not a modern RPG curve. Change it in settings after the bank if the atrium already feels unfair.

How do saves work?

Use named saves at map transitions from the pause menu. Confirm any quicksave bind in controls rather than trusting a 1998 manual. Do not assume demo saves carry into the full game.

Is the story campaign single-player?

Yes. You play Blade alone with JC on comms. Online PvP is a separate mode. There is no shared campaign run.

What should I read after this page?

Bind keys on Controls, then either the Demo Guide or the Walkthrough. Keep combat open once mutants show up.
